We have a new treatment!

We are excited to introduce a new treatment to Blend, it is polynucleotides. This is a safe

and effective treatment for the face and body.

I have recently had this treatment on my neck, and I am thrilled with the results.

Polynucleotides are shortened DNA fractions that occur naturally in the body. While you

may not fully understand the complex nature of what polynucleotides are, one thing is

certain we are very excited about it so we will explain.

In recent years, regenerative medicine has become the focus of attention of aesthetic

practitioners who recognise that the wound healing and the ability to stimulate fibroblasts

can assist with many skin issues. There are over 90 clinical trials in the use of

polynucleotides and the evidence of their power is highly respected in both the medical

and aesthetic fields. Stimulating fibroblasts, polynucleotides boost collagen production,

improve elasticity and increase hydration. The antioxidant action enables fibroblast

stimulation, resulting in the reduction of cell damage caused by UV radiation or scars.

Fibroblasts are a type of cell in connective tissues that produce collagen and help maintain

the structural framework of tissues. What this means is that well-functioning fibroblasts can

enable younger looking skin.

Polynucleotides are important tools which are now available to regenerative medicine to

counteract the aging processes. They address skin hydration by regulating the maintenance

of water balance. Polynucleotides are generally extracted from fish in a cruelty-free process,

whereby they are highly purified. They are then incorporated into a polymerised injectable

gel that can be administered via needle or cannula. Polynucleotides are completely

absorbed by the body and have a half-life of approximately 3 hours which means there is

very little downtime. Side effects that can occur include redness and swelling, which usually

settles after 1–2 days.

This treatment can be used for several conditions such as general ageing, acne scarring and

rosacea. It is suitable for all age groups and is not only useful for the eyes and face but also

has well documented benefits for the neck, decolletage and knees.

  • ï‚· Holistic skin revitalisation to combat general signs of ageing.

  • ï‚· Acne

  • ï‚· Atrophic scarring

  • ï‚· Rosacea

  • ï‚· Alopecia/hair loss

  • ï‚· Hyperpigmentation

  • ï‚· Deep lines & wrinkles

  • ï‚· Rehydration for dull skin at any age

The before and after images below are following 3 treatments. It is recommended that 3

treatments are administered to obtain optimal results.

If this sounds like a treatment you would like to discuss in clinic, then make an appointment

to see Tracey. Key points you need to understand is that this is not a treatment which gives

an immediate result, it takes time and patience however, the end results are well worth the

wait. You will need 2-3 treatments, 4 weeks apart.

  • ï‚· Noticeable results in 90 days

  • ï‚· Maintenance every 9 months

This treatment is blowing us away with the results around the eye area. For those who do

not want to have tear trough filler or are not eligible this is a treatment you need to know

about!
